There is nothing like a Friday night on the beach --- and in the process, wearing out your kids and catching up with good friends. I find something about going to the beach at "off times" so much more appealing then the mid-afternoon heat and craziness. Early mornings or early evenings is always my pick.
And this guy --- don't let the crawling fool you. As a follow-up to the "freedom walk" of last week, he proudly stood up on the beach and walked --- and I waited for him to sit right down --- and he continued to walk on. What a great place to plant those extra-wide feet of yours down and start your exploration. Walk on, Burns...
We ate, therefore, they ate.
They are persistent things. I always liked seagulls. It meant I was at the beach. Bobby said they are "nasty rats with wings" and thanks to that image in my head, I don't feel the same about them.
I think from time to time that Hadley is growing up so quickly --- she is becoming such a little girl with a curious mind and a style of her own. But then I see a picture like this and it reminds me of how young she still is. A wee little one on a big ole' beach. Maybe that is why I like the beach so much --- it makes you feel so small in comparison to the ocean's greatness.
One quick game of hide and seek before getting in the car ---sandy and salty and right to bed they went.
