N0. 70 A BAGEL BIRTHDAY

This is how the birthday girl started her party...

And here is how she ended her day {with her new flashlight in bed with her}...

And here is what fell in between---a bagel party, of course! Both Hadley and Burns love bagels. We frequent Bruegger's Bagels more than I will admit in a public forum, but they are all too conveniently positioned on our own way home from school--quick, easy, good prices and great ice tea. So when I was thinking of what to do for H&B for their shared birthday party, bagels were the perfect theme for me to run with!

The girls tossed mini bagels into Burns' mouth!

Bobby and Papa Ocean were our short order cooks---making eggs and bacon to order!

The kids painted cardboard bagels with flavors of their choosing.

So sweet to see little girls having a breakfast picnic...

You would think we were telling her she couldn't have any of her own birthday cake, but that is not the case. It has been fun to watch Hadley's personality---and she is currently in a "stage" of not wanting to be center stage. On her terms, she will sing, dance and request your attention, but only on her terms and I happen to  like that about her...

And Burns, you are a trooper---you really do love your momma if you are willing to amuse me with a flower puff on the side of your head.

Although this little lady is most comfortable in a princess dress or a flapper headpiece--so adorable!

"I could eat you up, I love you so..."

I told Bobby that I felt like we were just yesterday setting up for the French-themed 2nd birthday party. Where oh where does time go? In such a short amount of time, these two little bundles have grown---they have gained a mound of personality, squeezable thighs, a love for swimming under water, big beds and no diapers, a huge heart for each other, a willingness to help, a giggle that makes anyone in the room laugh, negotiating skills, an even bigger appetite, a spirit of adventure and make-believe...

And Bobby and I continue to be blown away by how crazy we are about each of our children individually. You are each made by God with great design and purpose. Nothing excites me more than to see more of your gifts come alive and I pray that we encourage and nurture you as you grow.

Hadley, I love you to the moon and Burns, I love you to the stars.
