NO. 68 IT'S ALMOST TIME

Like I have told one of my best friends, Easter is not complete without hearing her quote one of my favorite movies, "It's almost time for the Easter Bunny." She can say it or I can just think it and I laugh---not so much because of the line, but of our friendship as Clairee and Ouiser from Steele Magnolias. She is a dear friend and I don't get to see her or laugh with her like I wish.

Burns is not so happy to be sitting in this big rabbit's lap---and Hadley would not get close to him. Her good friend Alyssa had no problems climbing up in his lap and telling him she would be back to see him next year.

Ouiser (Talley) would sure get a quick out of these two---and surely roll her eyes and say something like, "I expect nothing less from your child, Clairee." Lola and Hadley went to their first Easter egg hunt of the year and what do they ask the face painter to paint? Santa Clause. Here they are showing them off.

Hadley is sizing up the competition for the egg hunt. Layna's mom is a great friend of mine, but may put friendship to the side when it comes to winning the egg hunt! And for the record books, Layna did walk away with the golden egg. Both girls were a little timid and probably surprised that they call this a "hunt" despite a zillion eggs scattered in an open field--so much for the old fashion hide an egg in a tree or under a bush hunt. Is this another attempt of our culture to be "fair" and "inclusive" and "everyone wins?" Maybe this is not the place to go too much into that...afterall, Papa will have a hunt like no other in a couple weeks!

Happy Easter preparation---a short week left and I am going to attempt to do some crafts and stories for us to celebrate the great news of Easter. Any good ideas you have found? (I love how I ask questions to the world wide web---anyone, anyone?)
