I know you will one day read this blog and wonder where in the world I was for the last month. Yes, May 12 was the last blog update, so it has been over a month since my last post, but that only means one thing...I have been busy loving on you little lady! But, I agree, there is no excuse to not jot down the happenings of our life while they are happening...so here is an attempt to catch you up to speed on yourself! (funny thing, huh? wonder if anyone is blogging to catch me up to speed with myself...)
Embarrassingly, we have had a busy month and I had to glance at the calendar to see what we have been doing lately...
- We went to a girls weekend at the Oak Island beach house with no-name granny, Mom Mom, Chrissy, Steph & Charlene. You were a little timid at first and I don't blame you...the Kramer ladies are a crazy crowd, but one day you will appreciate them. I am not saying you have to join in their craziness, but you can appreciate (and love) them! We talked and talked and enjoyed the house to ourselves for a quick weekend before summer begins.
- We went to a Symphony in the Park with my "finer things" club. You were loving the outdoors and exploring all the new foods that everyone brought to share. I think I even caught you signing...that's my girl!
Mor Mor and Papa Ocean came to spend the weekend with you while your daddy and I helped the Caldwells with their daughter's wedding. It was a joy to be with the Caldwells during such a precious time in their life and witness the love they have for Christ and their daughter. They have come into our lives and we are going to absorb as much as we can from them...and wait until you get older and can spend the night at their house...you are in for a treat!- You walked...not sure of the exact date because you have been "cruising" for some time now, but we are going to go with May 20. You have not stopped walking since...
- We did water painting one afternoon.

- We went to a send off party for Wayne because he is leaving for the desert to train...we will be thinking of him often and taking care of Heather while he is gone!
- We went to Lola's 1st birthday party!!
- We went to Chapman's graduation from Kindergarten.
- Our community group went downtown for a Bluegrass concert in Marion Square. It was hot and we didn't hear the first song, but fun to be out and about with "the people" nonetheless.
- We went to Wilmington. We went to the pool. We went to the beach. And we have since lost that hat along the way...
- No-name granny came to visit.
- Your daddy officially (well, as official as we get around here) took over bath duty and the two of you play hard and clean hard...typical of your daddy!
- Don Hill came to visit.
- We ate catelope all day long. I will always remember this moment...you and I were sitting on the floor in the kitchen as I fed you melon bite by bite. You would take a bite and would let all the juice run down your mouth. Then you would give me a kiss. And then another bite and another kiss and it continued for as long as we had melon. I cried because I was so happy to have you right there with me and wanted it to last forever.
I love the last tidbit...about the canteloupe! Too sweet!
ReplyDeletePS You forgot to mention that Miss Hadley Tate made out with my handsome son :)
You forgot to mention her first birthday party!! You must post some of those great pics from it!
ReplyDeleteLove the canteloupe part- we know how she loves to give kisses! I bet the both of you needed a shower after that! Oak Island, I love that place- how special!
