Weekend away

We went to Wichita, KS this past weekend for a good friend's wedding. We had a great time catching up with college friends---reminencing about old times and comparing stories about our new families. I am so fortunate to have such a solid group of friends from school. I was thinking about this during the wedding and appreciate the value my friends place on marriage. That may sound silly, but I think the importance, value and definition of marriage has changed over the years...and as I watch one of my best friends get married this weekend, I realized that he gets it. He sees that he is joining a convenant with his new bride for the rest of his life. Of course it will take work, but the blessings and the trials are what make a marriage strong. I pray that Glove and Ashley will have a life filled with joy and hope for God has much in store for them.

While we were gone, my parents and sister watched Hadley for us. This was the first time that I left her, so of course I was a little sad to leave, but she had a blast (from what I can tell from the pictures). The first thing my mom said when we I saw them was, "well, she didn't get all her bottles or naps, but..." Not sure if that is the first thing I wanted to hear, but at that point I was so caught up in kissing on Hadley that I didn't care. Here are some pictures from the weekend...lots of messy, but happy faces!

My dad sent these pictures this morning as a reminder that Hadley and I make similar faces. I joke about her and I having the same sense of humor, but it really is the best thing. We laugh and laugh at each other and I treasure every second of it. Tater you are something special.
