After Hadley's dedication, the Heuber grandparents followed 17S back to Charleston the following weekend and brought along with them Greg, Shannon (Bobby's sister), Lily and Hannah Grace. They piled into a big van (admittedly, not as big as I was picturing with my funny sense of humor) for the drive and then piled into our apartment (again, not as big as I pictured) for the weekend. We celebrated Papa Ocean's 60th birthday at an Italian restaurant downtown---the six adults, no kids and an owl birthday candle (family tradition). It poured down rain and we laughed just as loud. It was a great birthday dinner for me...and hopefully also for the one we were celebrating!! The three Heuber/Johnson girl cousins are quite the three musketeers...with "Ring leader Lily", "At my own pace Hannah" and "Heart-attack Hadley" each has a very distinct personality that will continue to develop as the years go by. We were very sad to see them go...
We decided to go to Pinehurst for two days prior to Easter to see family (especially Uncle Spark) before coming home to celebrate Easter at our church. It was a quick trip, but we were able to visit with Amy and Dean who are expecting a baby girl in July. After coming back, I received an email from Papa Fuzz to Hadley that I thought I would share..
"Dear Hadley: I thought you would enjoy this picture of your mother when she was about your age. This was always one of my favorites of her and it reminds me so much of you at this early age. When I look at it I see your funny little expressions in her face and how cute the two of you are. You already know how much your Mother and Dad love you but I thought I would tell you that you have won the hearts of everyone you have met so far in your short 10 months. I read your mother's blog and loved the pictures of you as "Curious George". Never lose your curosity for learning. More importantly your mother & father are instilling in you the love of God that will be your source of strength throughout your life. Have a wonderful day and pleasant dreams for all you naps." -Papa Fuzz
