Because we thought she was going to be a boy, her room started out white and blue, but some pinks have slowly been added...no set theme, but little things I find here and there continue to be added (like much the rest of our place). The frame below was given to Hadley by some of my best friends from school (Dixie + Beth) and reminds me of them when I see it. I would read her the words often in the middle of the night--encouraging words for all ages! The baskets store her daily goods. The piggy bank was a gift from our jeweler and friend--a reminder to me of our wedding and the funny memories Bobby and I had during our engagement. And the crown was added for our little princess!
Hadley loves books---she has a mix of some of my old favorites, books on animals that her Daddy likes to read to her, books on philosophy, books on being a Tarheel, books on manners...and so on.
The mobile---I could not decide what to hang above her crib. I wanted something different, so I went with the "poofs" as I call them. There are five that hang at different heights above her bed. She has yet to notice them. I notice them everyday and give them a little nod of approval. :)
A girl begins to like shoes from the second she is born...and if she doesn't, her mom likes them for her. Hadley has a collection of shoes that we one day hope she will wear. For now, we will let her express her style with the one shoe on, one shoe off look that she tends to go with...I am seeing flashes of her in second grade as she picks out her outfits for school. I guess this is what they call "payback" for the years of my own stubbornness.
This is the sweetest thing........this blog..... and MOST impressive. You are precious to give us an insider's look at Miss Precious and your impressions along her way. We love you three!
