a BIG thank you...

Prior to Christmas, the Heuber family was emailing back and forth with plans for our week together...things like shopping, golf, movies, etc. With my nesting gene in overdrive at the moment, I requested the help and expertise of Papa Ocean in the building of a bookshelf for Hadley's room. The plans were from Martha Stewart, so they were a little prettier than the typical DIY instructions, but the results were exactly what I had in my mind...

We went to Home Depot to buy the wood and cut everything to size at home. We primed and painted everything in stages over the week, despite the chilly weather. I know Land of Nod sells something similar that is half the size and double the price. This one from Pottery Barn is more similar to ours, but still a little smaller. I think we have about 40+ books on our shelves, which prior were spread ALL OVER THE HOUSE!

So if you are looking for a weekend project, here you go. And if not, I know someone selling them in Wilmington for a great price!!!
One disclaimer: now that all the books are visible, our bedtime ritual is a little longer. Hads stands in her crib saying "yes" or "no" to the ones I point to. Despite all of the choices, she still has her go to favorites..."Good Night Cape Cod," "What's wrong little Pookie," and "Mother Goose."
More updates from the nest shortly...that is, if Bobby will continue to spend his weekends painting and rearranging furniture!
